To review information about your state retirement plan, please carefully read the following guidelines and select the retirement plan that applies to you.

As an alternative, you can elect the Oregon University System Optional Retirement Plan instead of the state's retirement plan, when initially eligible to enroll.


State's Retirement Plan

1) You were hired on or after August 29, 2003 and

You are eligible for the Oregon Public Service Retirement Plan (OPSRP). The OPSRP includes the Individual Account Program (IAP) and Pension Program.


2) You were hired on or after August 29, 2003 and

You are eligible for Oregon PERS and the Individual Account Program (IAP).


3) You were hired on or after August 29, 2003 and

You are eligible for Oregon PERS prior to the service break and the Oregon Public Service Retirement Plan (OPSRP) after the break. The OPSRP includes the Individual Account Program (IAP) and Pension Program


* Break in service means a period ending on or after August 29, 2003, during which an employee performs no paid service in a PERS qualifying position for six or more consecutive calendar months. The six-month period is extended to twelve months for family medical and career development leave.
