December 24- Classified Employees
The SEIU-OUS collective bargaining agreement grants December 24 as a paid holiday for classified employees (in lieu of Veteran's Day).
Special Day of Leave - Classified
Full-time classified employees receive eight hours of leave, prorated
for part-time staff. This day may be used on the day before or day after Christmas
or New Year's Day holidays. The university will be open those days, and time
off should be scheduled to maintain departmental services. OPEU and GCIU employees
receive this day under the terms of their collective bargaining agreements.
Temporary employees do not receive this day of paid leave.
Special Day of Leave - Unclassified
Governor Kulongoski recently announced that he has granted the special day of leave (Governor's Day) for unclassified employees, which may be used the workday before or after Christmas or New Year's Day. Officers of administration, instruction and research with 12-month appointments may use paid leave (including the special day granted by the Governor) or leave without pay for December 24th.
